The next order of
business was to try to whip myself back into
playing shape. It had been about 5 years since I
had even picked up an instrument and I had some
practicing to do.
(Btw, that's one of the things I hate about living
in New York; there's never time to do more than the
one thing you came here to do.)
Sue said there was a practice scheduled for
Wednesday and I had to be ready.

For the next couple of days I played as much as I
could. I played along to all the songs to my
favorite album of all time, Back in Black by AC/DC.
I played along with some Ramones, Van Halen, and
the Village People. I figured out scales. And I
wore my fingers out doing it.
In the end, I still sucked. I tried to learn all
the Creamy songs she gave me on tape, but I wasn't
doing very well.
And my first rehearsal was the next day.
