RAZORFISH STUDIOS ANNOUNCES NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH NILE RODGERS' SUMTHING DISTRIBUTION FOR FIRST RELEASE "POLYDEMIC" BY TICKLAH

(New York) October 23, 1998 - Razorfish Studios, Inc. announced today the distribution deal for its first record release, "Polydemic" by Ticklah. The deal inked with Sumthing Distribution, the indie network recently acquired by producer Nile Rodgers, provides a major, nationwide channel of distribution for present and future Razorfish Studios audio productions. Rodgers, who is known foremost as founder of the R & B supergroup CHIC, and more recently as a producer for artists such as Madonna, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, The B52s and Duran Duran among others, is excited about the partnership. "I stayed up half the night vibing with this music, I really dig the Ticklah record and the independent spirit of Razorfish Studios," said Rodgers.

"We have a partnership that provides Razorfish the best of both worlds," said Michael Simon, President of Razorfish Studios. "Sumthing allows us to reach a wider audience, without compromising our creative sensibilities. Everything is falling into place for our recordings: we have a distribution deal; in addition to our staff resources, we now have an A & R consultant, Jim Dunbar (formerly of Sony & Geffen); and we have supplemented our in-house PR personnel with an independent PR consultant with expertise in the music industry."

Expanding on the Razorfish tradition of creating original productions across all formats, Ticklah's brew of slinky ska-jazz and far-out dub, POLYDEMIC, will be released on CD and vinyl distributed by Sumthing. In addition, Razorfish is exploring new technology for direct digital sale to customers.

Although its release and distribution employ today's most futuristic technologies, "Polydemic" was actually recorded almost entirely on eight-track home equipment by Ticklah himself. A founding member of underground scenesters Cooly's Hot Box, Ticklah's recent projects include remixes for Rebbie Jackson as well as Capricorn/Mercury recording artists, 311.
