George Condo's Paintings, Danny Elfman's Music Come To Life At RSUB

(NEW YORK, NY) February 10, 2000 -- RSUB announced today the release of THE POD PEOPLE, an animated series based on the faceless portraits and fantastic figures that appear in the paintings of contemporary artist George Condo, whose work has been featured in exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe.

The series, which also features original music by Danny Elfman, will appear exclusively on RSUBOX (www.rsubox.com), RSUB's streaming video destination.

"We are honored to help George expand his vision to encompass digital media," says Michael Simon, President of RSUB. "Our relationship with George is another step in our effort to revolutionize the art world."

THE POD PEOPLE is being animated by cartoon syndicate Bullseye Art, Ltd., whose work includes the pop-star digital sitcom series MISS MUFFY, which premiered earlier last year.

"I'm very excited about RSUB's adaptation of my paintings in the context of the Internet," says Condo. "I'm thrilled to see my characters come to life in this new medium."

"This is an exciting project," says Craig Kanarick, RSUB Chief Creative Officer. "George is one of the best contemporary artists alive, and to be able to take his creative concepts and meld them into a whacked-out animated comedy series-what could be cooler than that?"

"Condo Painting," a full length feature film directed by John McNaughton which explores Condo's creative process and the mediums that have influenced his work, is currently in production and scheduled for release in March by October/USA films.
