re: amandine
So we never made it to the Cooler. We just kept on going until we were at
Amandine's house. I was like a deer stuck in the glow of her headlights. I
told her I'd never gone out with a woman before and that I wasn't sure it was
the right thing for me and I was nervous and I didn't know if I should be
doing this -- all as we walked up the stairs to her apartment.
Well, in the end, we just sat up all night and talked. I guess I was just
too nervous and unsure of the whole thing to do much else. And Amandine said
she wasn't into snagging me or anything like that just because I was
straight. She just liked me and thought I was sexy and if I didn't want to
go any further that was OK. So we didn't.
By that time the sun was coming up and so we went to sleep in her bed. Like
you and I used to do when we were kids.
The next morning we made coffee and eggs and it was like we had known each
other for a really, really long time.
And that's how I became best friends with Amandine.
Later,
Phoebe
