Out of the night's enormous take
he gave me $200 bucks. And with the $420 I had made myself, that came
to a $620 night. Not f'ing bad I would say.
I thanked Tito again for giving me such an amazing job. It looked like
my money worries were going to be over as long as there was a
Purgatory. Again Tito shrugged off my gratitude.
"Nothing," he said. "Besides, I like you, you know." What did he mean?
"I mean I want you to come home with me. I like how you look in those
pants..."
I laughed. "Uh, thanks, but I don't think so, Tito," I said. What he
said next nearly knocked me on my butt.
"So, I take it you don't want to work here." What? Did he really say
that? Does he really expect every girl he hires to sleep with him to
keep her job?
"Yes," he said. "Many of them do."

I sat there for a second, totally stunned. Sometimes I just can't
believe how naive I am. I looked at Tito for a second -- he's really
pretty cute. And then I thought about my rent and my food and that $620
a night.
And then I thought about it some more...
