ZIGGY PLAYED GUITAR

After the show, the A&R guy from the label (Sue doesn't want to mention it by name) took us out for some food. We rode in a limo over to Forent, this place that's open 24 hours.

At Florent, people were looking at us like maybe we were supposed to be famous or something. We ate good food and drank a lot of wine.

Hey, I could get used to this.

That's when the other shoe dropped. Sue and I were in the bethroom together (no, we were not doing coke!) and she took a deep breath and told me.

"You were amazing," she said "Fantastic. I was really proud of you."

"Thanks," I said.

"But Label Dick is acting weird," she told me. "He's been trying to get us to play with this other bass player. We're fighting him but I don't know if we'll win."

"It's your band", I said, "not his."

"Yeah," she said, "but it's his label and he can always not sign us. I'll do the best I can."
